Winchester Links Committee Members
Jeremy Hill Andrews-Moore
Chairman
Hi i'm Jeremy and I'm Winchester Links Chair. I have been in the role for over a year and was delighted to be re-elected by Links members to be chair this year.
As chair I over see the running of the Links unit, I am in contact with all other members of the committee and together we run the unit in the way in which its members want it to be.
I am studying drama and music at the university and I joined links because i have a habit of coming across unfortunate situations. I hoped it would offer me development of the first aid skills i had before coming to university which i'm pleased to say it has.
Cammie Warren
Vice-Chair and Acting Treasurer
Hi, I'm Cammie and currently a first-year Primary Ed. student. I signed up to St John at the Fresher's Fair, not really knowing much about them, but I went to the first meeting and really enjoyed it. I have made some good friends, whilst having fun and gaining invaluable skills.
This year, I am Vice-Chair and acting Treasurer. As vice- chair I am back-up to the chair, which means I can take on some of the responsibilities. I am also another person that people can come to for support. As treasurer, I am in charge of the financial side of our society, such as the spending!
Chantelle Marsh
Secretary
Hi I’m Chantelle and I’m the secretary for Winchester links.
I joined St John because I am training to be a primary school teacher and I felt that learning first aid would be a valuable skill to have in the classroom. The weekly meetings give me an opportunity to practise my skill and feel confident should I ever need to use them.
As secretary I am in charge of the paperwork, this includes dealing with forms, new memberships and other admin task. I also keep a weekly register so I know who has received training. I liaise with Mel (training) in order to make sure each member has received relevant training in order to complete assessments.
Melanie Brown
Training
I am the training organiser at Winchester Links and have been a member for over a year. I started LINKS when I first came to university. It was a way I could meet new people and learn possible life saving skills. Prior to joining I had done a variety of basic first aid courses but Saint John's provided me with the opportunity to develop these skills further. Also, by having regular meeting you have lots of opportunity to practice your first aid without the worry of getting it wrong. LINKS also allows you to go and carry out first aid duties in the community.
As the training organiser I help to arrange trainers and assessors for LINKS members. The type of training we have complete since opening a LINKS unit at Winchester include; Total First Aid, Defibrillator training, Mental Health, Moving and Handling and taking blood pressures. LINKS is therefore a great society to be a part of as you meet new people, have new experiences and learn life saving skills all for free.

Sarah Waddleton
Stores
My name is Sarah and I am in my first year of Primary Education at Winchester University. This was my main reason for joining St John as I thought it would be helpful having some first aid skills for when I am teaching. I also thought it would be a good way of making new friends.
My role on the committee is being in charge of stores. I have only just joined so don’t have any experience in the role but it covers looking after and/or knowing where equipment is and making sure equipment is available for duties.
Shelly Martin
Social Secretary
Hi! I’m a first year primary teaching student at Winchester University. I am involved in a number of other (mostly performing arts related) societies in the University, but I’ve been a member of St. John’s Ambulance since I was 10 years old and was delighted to have the opportunity to stay with them. I have really enjoying being a part of this group and have had the opportunity to learn so many different kinds of things.
I am thrilled to be social secretary for Winchester LINKS this year and I hope I do a good job! If you have any ideas for anything fun you’d like to do please feel free to tell me!
